We, at Finjan, express our deep concern and solidarity with the Syrian people as the Assad regime, supported by Russia and Iran, escalates its violent campaign against civilians – in particular in Aleppo, Idlib, and Hama.
Following the revolutionaries and rebels’ successful establishment of full control over these regions, the regime and its allies have intensified their brutal bombardment, targeting residential areas, hospitals, schools, and vital public spaces. These deliberate attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure are blatant violations of international humanitarian law and constitute war crimes.
The Assad regime’s actions, enabled by Russian air support and Iranian-backed militias, continue to demonstrate their utter disdain for fundamental universal values and even human life itself, as well as their sole commitment to crushing any aspirations for freedom and dignity among Syrians.
The international community must no longer turn a blind eye to these atrocities. We call for:
The current situation is a test of the world’s moral compass. The lives of millions in Syria depend on the willingness of global actors to prioritize justice and seize this momentous opportunity to restore dignity to the Syrian people and foster a climate of sustainable peace, including outside Syria’s borders. In this regard, we urge the international community to support a political end to this overwhelming 13-year old crisis, in line with UN Security Council Resolution nr. 2254.
We urge governments, organizations and individuals worldwide to stand with the Syrian people in their struggle for freedom and democracy and to demand an end to thirteen years of violence. To be on the right side of history in a critical moment that could also bring an end to Iran’s and Russia’s impunity.
Finjan remains committed to advocating for justice and amplifying the voices of those who refuse to be silenced. Together, we can work toward a future where Syria’s people live free from fear and oppression.
Signed,
