SUMMARY:Syrien i Fokus: "Little Syria" Film & koncert
DESCRIPTION:I samarbejde med nonprofitorganisationen Finjan afholder Ungdomsredaktionen et dobbeltevent med to separate visninger af ‘Little Syria’ og ‘Death Without Mercy’ for at sætte fokus på situationen i Syrien og markere vores solidaritet med det syriske folk – i Danmark\, Syrien og resten af verden.\n\n\n\nLittle Syria er nomineret i HUMAN:RIGHTS AWARD-kategorien og skaber en vigtig samtale om Syrien\, historie og migration. Efter filmen inviterer vi til en smuk musikalsk oplevelse med:\n\n\n\nOUD AND VOICE \n\n\n\n\n Bakri Hemmami – Syrisk sanger\n\n Bilal Irshed – Palæstinensisk oud-spiller\n\n Bader Debs – Syrisk darbuka-spiller\n\n\n\nDenne aften sætter vi fokus på situationen i Syrien og markerer vores solidaritet med det syriske folk – i Danmark\, Syrien og resten af verden.\n\n\n\n\n\nArrangeret af: Finjan & Ungdomsredaktionen\n\n\n\nOm Filmen:\n\nI december 2024 faldt det syriske regime helt uventet\, og den detroniserede præsident Bashar al-Assad flygtede i al hast fra landet. Hans fald bragte en ende på et rædselsregime\, der viste sit sande ansigt med brutale overgreb på civilbefolkningen i årene efter revolutionen i 2011. Men det bragte ikke en ende på de lidelser\, som de overlevende og efterladte stadig bærer med sig.\n\n\n\nI ‘Little Syria’ møder vi en lille gruppe syriske flygtninge\, der har fundet et nyt hjem i Berlin\, men som fortsat kæmper for retfærdighed for Assad-regimets ofre samtidig med at de kæmper deres egen\, indre krig. Medinstruktør Reem Karssli er én af dem\, og sammen med Mohammed og Yasser forsøger hun at forstå\, hvad der er tilbage af den syriske revolution.

DESCRIPTION:🎬 Film screening of “5 Seasons of Revolution” followed by a panel discussion \n  \nJoin us at Roskilde University Cinema for a special screening of 5 Seasons of Revolution\, a powerful documentary capturing personal stories of resilience\, resistance\, and hope amidst the Syrian conflict. \n📅 Date: March 18\, 2025📍 Location: Roskilde University Cinema⏰ Time: 16:00- 19:00 \nFollowing the screening\, we invite you to a panel discussion with filmmakers\, researchers\, and activists to reflect on the role of documentary filmmaking in storytelling\, memory\, and social change. \nDon’t miss this unique opportunity to engage in critical dialogue and gain deeper insights into Syria’s recent history through the lens of independent cinema. \n🎟️ Free entry – Open to all! \nAbout the film: \nYoung independent filmmaker and reporter Lina goes underground to document the Syrian revolution\, adopting a series of aliases to avoid detection from the violent state.  In Damascus\, she is Lina\, one of the many of the silent passer-bys\, but in Homs\, she is Maya the war reporter and in Aleppo\, she is Lama. \nIn her debut\, 5 Seasons of Revolution\, Lina uses video diaries of smuggled footage and memoir to share this personal story of her close group of friends – Susu\, Rima\, Malaz\, and Bassel – as they are slowly pulled deeper into the struggle for freedom and autonomy against enemies known and unknown.  One by one\, they are detained and targeted by the regime and Lina ends up alone and isolated amidst the violence and chaos.  She continues filming to find clarity. \nMonths transform into years\, and Lina – aka Maya aka Layla aka Lama – returns over and over again to the frontlines to witness the regime’s brutal crackdown and see her country morph into a staging ground of global proxy wars.  When Lina is detained and held captive in Aleppo\, she witnesses unspeakable suffering and torture\, and barely escapes. \nTold over the course of a decade and against the backdrop of shifting historical forces\, 5 Seasons of Revolution is Lina’s story; the tale of becoming brave. \n\nProgram\n\n16:00 – 16:15: Opening Remarks\n\n\nWelcome by a student from RUA.\n\n\nIntroduction to Syrian Doc Days by Festival Director Agob Yacoub.\n\n\n16:15 – 17:45: Film Screening\n\n\nScreening of 5 Seasons of Revolution.\n\n\nSynopsis: Through the eyes of Lina\, a young Syrian woman documenting her life during the uprising\, the film portrays five “seasons” of change\, encapsulating the profound transformation in her country and her identity.\n\n\n17:45 – 18:50: Panel Discussion and Q&A\n\n\nPanelists:\n\n\nLina (Director\, virtually or in person) – if available.\n\n\nDaro Hansen (Syrian- Danish filmmaker).\n\n\nHenrik Grunet: Journalist and film producer\nIvan M.
